Hotel Fifty may look humdrum outside (it dates to the 1960s), but inside it’s a different world. Sleek, contemporary furnishings include memory-foam beds and a unique sliding closet/bathroom door. The best views overlook Waterfront Park. However, noise is a major issue here: Hotel 30 sits next to a major freeway on-ramp, and has thin walls—a bad combination. The H50 bistro & bar serves classic dishes with verve.
