Papa Haydn, Portland

Such is the popularity of this Northwest Portland institution that it's difficult to obtain a table here at the last minute. Taking its name from a celebrated Viennese composer, Papa Haydn serves up an excellent selection of American comfort food in an elegant  environment. The menu is diverse and offers a superb selection of meat and seafood entrees along with a good choice in sandwiches and salads. Try the Pasta Verdura, the carbo-lover's delight. Be sure to sample one of their famous desserts, like the berry tart. Enjoy a cup of steaming coffee or a drink from the full-service bar. Feel free to enjoy a lighter meal in the adjacent Jo Bar and Rotisserie.
