A relative newcomer, the Palomar gives an artsy update to the often boring Philadelphia hotel scene. After checking in at the lobby, which manages to be chic and modern while giving a nod to the city’s history with accessories like neon-colored busts of Benjamin Franklin, head up to your room in one of the four quirkily decorated elevators. Rooms are outfitted with modern fixtures and jazzy, geometric wallpaper, but we recommend splurging for one of their “spa” rooms, which come equipped with a large Fuji soaking tub.
