The American is named in honor of America's servicemen and women. The American Theater opened on September 19, 1942 as a movie house in Charleston with a seating arrangement for 900. Today, this 1942 Art-Deco movie palace is the place to hold a corporate event. It is a part of Patrick Properties and has state-of-the-art facilities.
