A former US Navy debarkation point built in 1942, Fleet Landing lay vacant after World War II. Located on the eastern waterfront side of the Historic District, the 6000 square-foot (557 square-meter) concrete building was purchased by Tradd Newton in 2004. He opened the one-story nautical themed restaurant with Chef Drew Hedlund, whose menu includes classic and contemporary Southern fare with an emphasis on seafood. Blue Plate lunch specials are offered daily as well as a children's menu. The interior furnishings are casual and maritime chic. Diners can enjoy a panoramic view of Charleston Harbor from within the establishment or out on the welcoming deck.
