Golf is probably the single-biggest draw for this South Carolina sea island, located just off the coast near the border with Georgia. Year-round sunny weather has made Hilton Head Island a prime location for golf resorts, and the island now has more than 25 courses. It's home to several famous golf tournaments, including the Verizon Heritage. For serious golfers, owning a home on Hilton Head on a course and being able to swing a club daily is the pinnacle of fine living.
