  The overview said a lot. Our family did learn so much about the area--but in the most exciting and fun way. The jeep was great fun, the guide was so knowledgeable but in an easy going way. We also visited a haunted graveyard and went out on a barrier island which was amazing, it had slave cabins and homes from the 1700's. Wow! We brought cameras and have some good pictures of more than we would ever see on our own. There is a new respect for this area and a positive grade for the Carolina Safari Jeep Tours.   We tried to do this for our vacation, but they cancelled the tour on us .. twice! The first time they said it was for an emergency. The second time, they did not say why, but they would send me a free coupon for next time. However, they never sent the coupon....   Read More

  Overall experience: THE BEST! We would do this again----it had just about anything one could hope for in a tour of the Carolina's coast. We saw alligators, birds, and a cool salt marsh eco system. We learned about the pirates and visited a haunted graveyard with hanging moss draped giant oaks and amazing tales. My kids loved the graveyard and the chance to interact with the stories. Also, to actually see the ricefields and understand a bit more about the history behind this whole place ws entertaining and most memorable. We took tons of pictures and really had a good time. You should definitely bring cameras and a spirit of adventure---we really liked the jeeps too...spread out and it made it fun. We came in spring but i could see it just about any season.   Also went on the Carolina Safari Jeep Tours in the fall. We saw so many birds and lots of alligators too. On top of that I really liked the pirate areas and the barrier islands. My wife really enjoyed seeing the rice plantation fields and the plantation pathways and the ghostlore. I want to bring our children back with us this coming summer. It is that good....   Read More
