A community revitalization project of Murrells Inlet, this mile-long boardwalk features marshes along one side and a variety of restaurants and watering holes (from fine dining to laid-back bars) and shops along the other. Running along the southern end of the Grand Strand, this pristine salt marsh is for nature and wildlife lovers, history buffs, shoppers and folks who just want to enjoy Southern hospitality. Visitors can also look at boats in the marina, stroll the boardwalk, go fishing or crabbing on the Veterans Pier, rent a kayak or Jetski, have lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants with live entertainment or dance the night away. Visit their website for a list of restaurants that have their own schedule of events and live music. Free parking is also available. - Natasha Lawrence
