Flipnotics Coffeespace Café, Austin

Beatnik or hipster-style places such as this one aren't supposed to have a friendly, woodland view out in back, but this one does. Within its walls, one is swept away into the cute and amusing 1950s atmosphere; the antiqued robot dolls and general ambiance give you an idea of how the future was perceived a few decades ago. The espresso and various coffees are strong and flavorful, and at breakfast the usual items needed for a continental meal (muffins and pastries) are available. Vegetarian burgers and a variety of sandwiches round out the menu for lunches and dinners. The jazz playing on the jukebox makes it a cool experience.
