Kome, Austin

Curiosity is the tool that Kome has used to entice strangers to its establishment. It sits on the side of Airport and 49th, down the road from the Famous Mrs Johnson bakery. To the unseeing eye, it is easy to miss until you notice the large wooden letters on the wall; then you walk in. The dive-exterior lets you into a little secret, along with a small cozy sushi bar from the creators of the food truck Go-Go. The menu is unique because it has been created specifically for Kome. The restaurant itself creates some atmosphere of Japanese authenticity by using Japanese names and characters on their notice board; as well as serving their sushi on wooden blocks.
