Capital Grille (The), Dallas

Capital Grille is one of the few remaining high-end steakhouses in the downtown Dallas area. Bask in the wood-dominated décor and the old-school attentive service (complete with waitstaff business cards). Note the pictures of old Texas lawmakers gazing down from the wall, and if you ask, the staff can rattle off a few facts about each. Littleneck Clams on the Half Shell are rare on appetizer menus, but when you taste them, you will wonder why. All the beef here is dry aged and super-tender no matter how you like it cooked. With so much beef on the menu, it is no wonder several varieties of red wine are available here.
