Overview

As the name implies, The Old Warsaw boasts a decisively European atmosphere. The interiors radiate romance and extravagance. Men must wear a jacket and tie, while ladies are asked to don after five attire. The menu is as classic as the surroundings, offering choices of lamb, fish, and veal in rich, creamy sauces. Selections include escargot, crepes and steak topped with crabmeat. The best option for dessert is the decadent souffle, delicately prepared.

The service was excellent; we were made to feel special from the moment we stepped in the door. Our waiter helped make our dining experience great; he even took our picture at the end of the evening. The food was excellent. We don't eat steaks and both of our seafood entrees were wonderful as well as the side dishes. My boyfriend spoke to someone at the restaurant ahead of time to arrange for a romantic table in a less crowded area and for a dozen roses to be on our table when we arrived....   Read More

Our 4th visit, and the food, wine list, service, and atmosphere are simply superb, as usual. We had called ahead to request a booth, which they kindly provided. The wine list is excellent, and the Sommelier is quite knowledgeable and helpful. The staff can only be described as superb: in a city of so many exceptional restaurants, this is easily among the top 3 or 4 from our experience. The atmosphere is perfect: relaxing, beautiful, and the pianist is a joy who happily plays your favorites....   Read More

“Best meal of my life”- We had the most amazing meal. Every course (with the wine pairing because if you're going to go for it- go for IT!) was better than the previous one. No one was snooty or pretentious. We never felt rushed- it was absolutely the best way to end our vacation. If you're a coffee lover, you must order the coffee. The super cool way they make it tableside is amazing, So fun....   Read More

I discovered this place because I was in uptown looking for a romantic place to have dinner. Since then, it's been the only place I go for good French continental food. The service has always been terrific - the first time I felt like I was being welcomed into a family rather than waited on. And the food! Wow! I've never had anything here that I didn't like...   Read More

We recently dined at Old Warsaw to celebrate a special event and we were not disappointed! Every menu selection was pure perfection with portions just the right size and so flavorful. We especially appreciated our attentive server Steve and the stellar wine selection. Note that the wines are truly lovely and selected to complement the menu selections and not the least bit overpriced as compared to similar restaurants will certainly return, overall a wonderful dining experience....   Read More

This was the first place I have even eaten at in the Uptown area and I was pleasantly surprised as soon as we walked in and peered in the door. The atmosphere inside is wonderful, dimly lit, simply decorated, very romantic. The service was great all around and the food was also very good. I got the lobster Thermidor and I did enjoy, it was the best I had ever had. However, all the meals are cooked to order and my boyfriend's Beef Wellington dish was to die for! All in all it was a good value and a lovely night out. Definitely worth a try!...   Read More

My husband and I eat out about once a week, and we like to try different places. We've probably ate in about ten different places in the Dallas area, this was by the best yet. It's cozy and decorated very nicely. The food is moderately priced, and absolutely delicious. We order two appetizers, then two different entrees one thing was better than the next, and the tiramisu is to die for. The wait stuff was attentive but not overwhelming like I find to be the problem in most Dallas restaurants. If you're in the Uptown area you have to try Old Warsaw....   Read More

I don't know how they do it, but year after year, Old Warsaw maintains its quality service, authenticity, and fine food. Pay no attention to those reviews who try to compare it to other restaurants--that's sheer nonsense. Yes, the price is going to be higher than most. Buffalo would be a much poorer city without the Rue. We ate there recently after a long absence, and the food and service was as good as ever. Baked oysters that are really fresh. Lovely salads and we each had a different seafood dish. Wine list excellent and reasonable. Still the best restaurant in Dallas. Can't wait to go again....   Read More

Went to The Old Warsaw last night for a special occasion. We were a little concerned because of the recent poor reviews about the wait staff. Shouldn't have worried, our waiter Saeid was excellent. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. My wife wanted the special menu #2 and I wanted to order a la carte. We have had problems with this in the past at other restaurants. Not a problem for Saeid. Not only did he accommodate the request and pace the meals well, but he also substituted a course (cheese course) in the special menu #2 with a second dessert at our request. Now to the food. Our meals started with lobster bisque soup. I ordered the Beef Wellington. My wife had the pheasant. My meal was very good and my wife enjoyed her meal as well. However, the service was impeccable (although not very busy) and really made the dining experience. The wine list was excellent, but since I was the only one drinking wine, I opted for wines by the glass. I had a couple of glasses of the merlot which was good. When I wanted a third glass of wine with my meal and received a stern look from my wife, again Saeid came to the rescue and offered up a wonderful half glass option. Meal was pricey (expect to spend $100+ pp), but good special occasion dining....   Read More

I had a great experience here! My wife took me here for my birthday dinner and it was a big hit to me! I've always heard of The Old Warsaw, but never seen it before up until that evening. The setting and environment is very dim and romantic; great for couples dinners and or formal dinners. Unfortunately, they do not offer outdoor dining. For my main entree, I ordered the Steak Diane. I really enjoyed this dish but the dill cream sauce was a bit too overwhelming for me. I loved the peppercorns on top! My wife ordered the Rack of Lamb which she also asked for an extra side of crabmeat added. She enjoyed her dish very much. For dessert, we had both amazing dishes of Cheries Jubilee and the Bananas Foster. Decadent. The BF was my favorite! It was warm and full of flavor! The Old Warsaw makes such a beautiful dining experience. Definitely will be returning again!...   Read More

No doubt about it, these guys are legit. Simply the best steak you can possibly have. Went to Dallas for Super Bowl weekend and in keeping with our theme of rolling hard and deep, we made a reservation for a saturday night. The joint was packed, even with a reservation and showing up on time, we still had to wait a couple of minutes to be seated. The wait was definitely worth it. My wife ordered the Steak Diane, which she loved. And I ordered the bone-in Rib-Eye, which was da bomb! Needless to say, the meal was epic! The service was top notch, besides our waiter, there were at least 3 assistant waiters checking in on us at about every 10 minutes. If you're looking to splurge on a steak, you cannot go wrong with Old Warsaw!...   Read More

I had dinner at the Old Warsaw for the second time last night. There was quite a crowd, but the service was outstanding as usual. I got there around 7, and was seated only a couple minutes later. My server was very attentive, and came back to check on me and my party several times. I was very specific about how I wanted my meal prepared, and everything was perfect. The food was excellent as expected, and my party agreed. We were enjoying our time so much that we didn't realize how late it had gotten. We didn't leave until about 10:15, and up to that point, we still felt welcomed. I have become a very big fan of this restaurant, and I can't wait to bring my parents here during Christmas break....   Read More
