Beer Island, Houston

Beer Island is fun little place on a budding corner of the Heights. Caddy-corner to the long-time amateur music venue, Fitzgerald's, and on the corner of White Oak and Studewood, the beer bar is an unpretentious social gem. The crowd generally consists of late twenties young professionals, making it great for after work until late-night for relaxing with your friends, but it's a marvelous weekend afternoon spot. Hang out on the patio, or choose one of their bar rooms. They serve decent food of their own, but any given night the Beer Island parking lot is liable to be flooded with patrons standing in line for one of Houston's gourmet food trucks.
