Brown's Auditorium came into existence in 1974 and has been a part of the film exhibition at Museum of Fine Arts (MFA), which showcases movies from across the world and from different genres. This 362-seater auditorium is part of the MFA, which is the oldest repository of cinema in Houston. MFA has always screened films which came from the Museum of Modern Art in New York. It is only since the 1950s that they started screening foreign films.
