Cyclone Anaya's Mexican Kitchen, Houston

What happens when a former beauty pageant contestant and a former professional Mexican wrestler get together? They open a restaurant called Cyclone Anaya's Mexican Kitchen of course! That was back in the 60s. It closed in the 90s, but their sons revived it and now have three locations throughout Houston. Sure they have items like lobster enchiladas, but why bother with the fancy stuff when you can enjoy the Tex-Mex fare the sons learned from their mother? Start off with the chorizo con queso while waiting for a plate of Betsy’s tamales. Wash it all down with a margarita. Enjoy drink and food specials during 3p-6p Happy Hours. -JoAnn Takasaki
