In a neighborhood where restaurants come and go, La Mexicana has withstood the test of time to become a Montrose institution. Serving up a little Mex-Mex and a little Tex-Mex made with fresh ingredients seems to be the right recipe for success at this restaurant. Go for happy hour margaritas and ½ price appetizers (like the Buenos Nachos with fajita meat) under the palapa-covered patio. Relax with friends and family before deciding on dinner. Favorites include the chicken mole poblano, chicharron en salsa verde, and the chile relleno is worth the 20-minute wait.
