Overview

Sometimes it takes soup to make you feel good like nothing else can. Pho One is a brilliant, friendly kitchen, where the scalding hot, flavorful broth of various authentic Vietnamese soups will warm your soul while relieving your stress. The fresh noodles, meat, and greens will fill you up with the nutrients you're looking for. You'll usually see the beautiful smile of the chef through the kitchen window. Besides the pho and other soups, you can also get a full menu of Vietnamese delights, including scrumptious appetizers, such as freshly rolled spring rolls and crunchy Vietnamese egg rolls, as well as reasonably priced Vietnamese rice platters (say yes to a fried egg). Incredible authentic food, plus a smile - what more could you want?  There's always rich Vietnamese coffee. -Adam Rosen

On my most recent visit, I enjoyed char-grilled pork strips on steamed rice with nuoc mam sauce. The rice was perfect, the pork had a great grilled flavor and the nuoc mam added a nice tangy sweetness. The Vu family, owners of this family restaurant are very friendly and often seen serving customers. Kim Oanh Vu comes from a famous pho family, who owned one of the most famous noodle shops in Saigon in the 1960s called Pho Tau Bay. Vu's father ran the equally successful chain of Pho Tau Bay restaurants in New Orleans before Katrina hit. When the family relocated to Houston afterward, they brought all of their pho-making skills with them to Pho One. New Orleans loss is Houston's gain. Exquisite....   Read More
