Red Cat Jazz Cafe, Houston

Located just half a block off Old Market Square, the red brick walls of Red Cat Jazz Cafe have resonated with many a blues and big band jam through the years, as well as the patina shows. The space has been expanded by taking down the second floor thus opening up the room. The food befits the French Quarter atmosphere, with classic Cajun and Creole cuisine like red beans and rice and crawfish etouffee. Class-act entertainment prevails with headliners on the weekend and weekday jams, from the 'Bring Your Ax' night and Latin night to the 'Flow' open poetry mic show. Performers have included Dana Jackson, Joe Sample, Dean James and Kyle Turner.
