Shoeshine Charlie's Big Top Lounge, Houston

This odd little dive bar takes on a touch of the surreal from the moment you pull on the elephant trunk to enter. Step in from the street into a David Lynch-esque interpretation of an old-school circus a little hard on its luck. That may very well be a bearded lady in the corner. On the other hand, it might be the rockabilly entertainment for the evening. The long room with bar on one side and couches raised on a platform on the opposite wall is a great place to gather with a group of friends to plan the evening over $2 Lone Stars or just hang out and catch up.
