Overview
Opened in 1930, this theater is one of the oldest cultural and social institutions in the whole of San Antonio. The playhouse is home to two other smaller theaters—the Russell Hill Rogers Theater and the Cellar Theater. The Cellar, with a maximum capacity of 60, showcases experimental plays, whereas Russell Hill Rogers, with 400 seats, is known for its musicals. The main theater itself is elegant with wooden interiors and a facade that is an imitation of the old market house.
