Amid the teriyaki joints and incense shops of the University District, the hip, bohemian atmosphere and fusion cuisine here is a pleasant surprise. Step past the glass-walled front, choose a wooden table in the mirrored dining room or a couch in the tiny bar area, and settle in for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a late-night coffee. Omelets are served up in original ways. The menu covers appetizers such as Penn Cove mussels, soups mostly Asian, salads for which you can try the walnut gorgonzola, and entrees like the Jasmine rice bowls and Lemongrass grilled prawns. A good one to try is the South Indian chicken rice bowl for it will not let you down. The glass dessert case in the back displays moist homemade cakes and pies.
